Witches on Gabriola!

Rumblings underfoot here in the Salish Sea.
Heads poking up through the ground.
Eyes swivel back and forth in their body liquids.
Snips, and snails, puppy dog’s tails.
Slurry, swilling, cauldron steaming.
An apothecary, deep and dark in the woods.
Scurry, meep, rustle, leap, dance undulating, spells creating.
Hats, capes, boots, gowns, buckles, sparkles, newts threaded in.
Warts, worms, nails and tails.
Tatters, rags, bones, something someone tapping.
All’s a whorl, all’s a spin, witching has begin begun.
